The Pressure Assistant can be configured through a variety of modes and settings. in each mode, the desired amount of sitting time limit (the amount of time before an alarm) can be set, as well as the pressure release time. It has three primary modes:
In the basic mode, The Pressure Assistant serves as a timer and alarm system. In this mode, as a user sits and adds pressure to the cushion, time is monitored by the device and feedback is shown on the progress bar. When the sitting time limit is reached, the alarm will sound and can only be reset by the user doing a pressure release for the preset duration.
* In this mode, The Pressure Assistant monitors the pressure applied by the user. The user still has the same sit time limit, but in this mode, any pressure release performed will cause the progress bar to decrease. This gives the user the freedom to release pressure at any point, and not be confined to a rigid timer.
This mode operates in the same manner as the Natural Use mode, but the primary difference is that, in this mode, the progress bar is not shown unless the user does a pressure release. By not having a constant visual cue, it is hoped that this mode will help users establish a habit of doing spontaneous pressure releases.
